Sekanjabin is one of the oldest Iranian drinks, is made of honey and vinegar. Sekanjabin is usually served in summer. It is sometimes seasoned with mint.

In cooking, a syrup or sirup is a condiment that is a thick, viscous liquid consisting primarily of a solution of sugar in water, containing a large amount of dissolved sugars but showing little tendency to deposit crystals. Its consistency is similar to that of molasses.

A liquid sugar that is used for a flavoring both prior to the preparation of the food as well as after when the food is served. Baked goods will have Syrups added as an ingredient to sweeten the baked item while other foods may use Syrup as a topping such as French toast, waffles or pancakes.
